HASBROUCK HEIGHTS BOARD OF EDUCATION
In lieu of minutes, the following is a list of resolutions passed at the April 19, 2007 meeting.

All Resolutions were approved by the Board

EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-380-07          the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the appointment of the following                        tenured  employees for the 2007-2008 school year at the salaries and positions                                   indicated as per Attachment A. Salaries to be set upon completion of the negotiations                        between the HasbrouckHeights Board of Education and the Hasbrouck Heights                                   Education Association, and the Hasbrouck Heights Administrators Association.
                      
RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-381-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following substitute teachers for                        the 2006-2007 school year:

                                    Carol Natiello- County Certified                        Mary Wagner- County Certified

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-382-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approves the following student                                   teacher/Practicum and/or field experience/observation placements:

                        Angela Saray – 2nd grade, Fall 2007 – Euclid School – teacher TBD

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-385-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approves the following appointment for the                        2006-2007 school year at the position and salary rate indicated:
                       
                        Anna Zofchak              Substitute Clerical Assistant                      $10.00 per hour
                        Patricia DeMarco         Substitute Lunch Assistant                        $10.00 per hour

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following    4-386-07            field trips:

SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the first

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-389-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following appointment for the                        2006-2007 school year at the position indicated:

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-390-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve Dr. Stephanie Coin and Dr. Diane                        Janson to serve as mentors at no cost to the district for Lisa Ciraco for a pre-doctoral                        internship at FDU.

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the Joint
4-391-07           Transportation Agreement with the South Bergen Jointure Commission to provide                        transportation services to district student as needed for the 2007-2008 school year.
                      
RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-392-07            the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education accept, with regret, the resignation of
                        Hemel Bavalia effective June 30, 2007.

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION:   Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the second
4-393-07             reading of the following new or revised policies/regulations/exhibits or by laws, copy                          attached to the minutes:

FACILITIES COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the contract  
4-394-07           with LTI for grounds maintenance at the Middle/High School from April, 2007 to                                   December, 2007 at a cost of $11,000.
                                                                               

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-395-07            the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following appointment for the                        2006-2007 school year at the position indicated. Said salary subject to change upon                        finalization of agreement between HHEA and HHBOE.

RESOLUTION:   Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-396-07            the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following job descriptions and                          evaluation instruments.

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the disposal 4-397-07             the following old and obsolete equipment:

RECREATION COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-398-07            the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following fund raisers:
                      
            a. HS- Flower Sale for Scholarships, NHS, 4/20/07 to 5/8/07, Ms. McGinty advisor
            b. LS- Memory Book, April 2007, LS PTA

            Be It Further Resolved, that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the distribution            of Euclid and Lincoln School Yearbooks by to 5th grade students on June 21, 2007 by the            respective school PTA.

RESOLUTION:   Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-399-07            the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following appointments

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the agreement
4-400-07           with the Wood-Ridge Board of Education for the following cooperative sports programs                        for the 2007-2008 school year:

            Hasbrouck Heights Host-
                        Boys and Girls Soccer (High School)
                        Boys and Girls Tennis (Middle and High School)
                        Wrestling (High School)
                       
            Wood-Ridge Host-
                        Volleyball (High School)
                        Wrestling (Middle School)

FINANCE COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION: Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following
4-401-07          reports in accordance with NJAC 6A:23-2.11c and NJAC 6A 23-2.11b which are on file in                        the office of the Board Secretary.

                        1. Report of the Board Secretary for the months of February and March, 2007
                         2. Report of the Treasurer of School Funds for the months of Feb. and Mar., 2007

RESOLUTION: Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following
4-402-07          appropriations transfers as per Attachment B.

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11-4 and upon consultation
4-403-07           with the appropriate district officials, the Board certifies that to the best of its                                   knowledge, no major account or funds have been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C.                        6A:23-2.11(a) and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district's financial                        obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

RESOLUTION:Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the payroll
4-404-07          for the month of March, 2007, as adjusted, in the amount of $1,213,162.86 and that the                        President of the Board, the School Business Administrator, and the Treasurer of School                        Funds be, and they hereby are, authorized to sign warrants up to and including the                        above.

RESOLUTION:  Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the
4-405-07            estimated payroll for the month of April, 2007 in the amount of $1,300,000, and that the                        President of the Board, the School Business Administrator, and the Treasurer of School                        Funds be, and they hereby are, authorized to sign warrants up to and including the                        above $1,300,000.

RESOLUTION: Be it Resolved that the President of the Board, the Board Secretary, and the
4-406-07          Treasurer of School Funds be, and they hereby are, authorized to sign warrants for                        supplies and materials received and services rendered to the Hasbrouck Heights School                        District .The amount for the month of February being:

                        General Fund:            10                       $289,104.28           
                                    12            $0                       
                                    20            $0                                                            $289,104.28

                        Enterprise:            60                                                            $105,986.45

                        Total                                                                                    $395,090.73

RESOLUTION:  Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
4-407-07           the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following appointment at the                        positition and salary indicated:

                        Demaris Gurowsky            Assistant to the SBA/BS    $45,000 per year (pro-rated)
                                                                Effective 5/1/07 to 6/30/07
                                               
RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
4-408-07           Schools, the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education accept the resignation of Donna                        Menendez as Business Office Secretary effective 4/24/07.
                       

RESOLUTION: Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following
4-409-07           appropriations transfers as per Attachment C.

                        Be It Further Resolved, that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the                        appropriation of restricted Fund Balance resulting from receipt of Extraordinary State Aid                        for the 2005-2006 school year in the amount of $109,344 and that said funds be used to                        offset unbudgeted special educations costs.

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve the following
4-410-07           financial service company to solicit district employees for the 2006-2007 school year:

                       Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation

RESOLUTION: Be It Resolved that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the
4-411-07           Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve a leave of absense without pay for                        Diane Van Hook from 5/21/07 to 6/4/07.

LABOR RELATIONS COMMITTEE:

RESOLUTION: Be it Resolved that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approve Schedules
4-412-07           D, E, F, G, H, and I of the 2006 to 2009 collective bargaining agreement between the                        HHBOE and the HHEA. 

PRIVATE SESSION (IF NECESSARY):

RESOLUTION:  Whereas, in accordance with the NJ Open Public Meetings Act, the Hasbrouck Heights                        Board of Education wishes to meet in Private Session for the purpose of discussing                        matter of a confidential nature relating to   

                       Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Edcuation adjourn                        to Private Session for the purpose of discussing such matters, and

                       Be It Further Resolved, that the public be informed of these matters as soon as the                        need to remain confidential is no longer necessary at a date to be determined.
