At its regular meeting held on April 17, 2008, The Board Of Education:
  • Approved the following student teacher/Practicum and/or field experience/observation placements:
    • M. Prenenski- Student teacher- ES- Fall 2008- Grade 3 TBD
    • J. Ramos- Student teacher- ES- Fall 2008- Grade 4 TBD
    • D. Ritchie- Student teacher- ES- Fall 2008- Kindergarten TBD
    • These individuals are also approved as substitute teachers in the district for the 2008-2009 school year.
  • Approved the following agreements for the 2007-2008 school year for consulting services as needed:
    • New Hope - Bedside instruction- beginning 3-26-08.
  • Approved the following field trips:

  • Approved the appointment of the following individuals, at the positions indicated, for the 2008-2009 school year:

  • Approved the academic offerings for grades K to 12 (List available at the Board of Education Office).
  • Approved the appointment of the following individual, at the position indicated, for the 2007-2008 school year:
    • Substitute Assistant- Classroom, Clerical, Lunch - C. Capozzi.
  • Approved the following appointments or personnel action for the 2007-2008 school year:
    • Leave of Absence: S. Gallo- with pay effective 5-16-08 to 6-30-08
    • Paraprofessional: M. Wexler.
  • Approved the following agreements for the 2007-2008 school year for consulting services as needed:
    • Dr. Laura Brent - Psychological Evaluation; Lindsay Oldmixon - ABA for home program- $50 per hour as needed (Pending receipt of liability insurance policy).
  • Approved the following program for the 2008-2009 school year:
    • Extended School Year- July 1, 2008 to August 12, 2008,
    • and approved the appointment of the following individual at the position indicated for the 2008-2009 school year:

  • Approved the purchase of a generator for the Middle/High School and replacement or repair of fire alarm stations, where needed, in the district pursuant to the provisions of NJAC 6:20-8.5 and NJSA 18A:18A-7 for health and safety reasons.

  • Approved the termination of the agreement with Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ for health benefits effective at the end of the day June 30, 2008, and approved the enrollment in the NJ State Health Benefits Program effective July 1, 2008.
    • The Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approved the establishment of a 125 Premium Only Plan effective July 1, 2008 for the purpose of offering district employees the opportunity to decline health benefits coverage as follows: Family Plan- $5,000, Two Adults Plan- $4,000, Parent and Child Plan- $3,000.
  • Approved the appointment of the following for the 2007-2008 school year at the assignment indicated:
    • R. Scholz- Assistant to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary - effective 5-19-08 (Pending receipt of all pre-employment requirements).
    • The Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approved appropriations to former employees not to exceed $500 for the purposes of providing training to the above individual.
